Blech - 2nd sick day I had to cash in....sick of being sick, sick of being sick and tired.
If the leaves weren't buried in 4 feet of snow, I'd turn one over right now because it's time for a new start.
I think back to two years ago when I was consistently running and I want to kick myself...why did I quit? Does it really matter? You can't change the past and the times when you let yourself down emotionally and physically.
Time to lace up these little green sneakers and start running...
Running makes me happy, it allows me to unwind, it makes me feel tough, it gives me time to think, it makes my skin feel brighter, it makes me realize how wonderful it is to breathe, it gives me a "high", it reminds me of just how strong my bigger legs are, it pushes me to hold my shoulders and head high and to strut my wonderful stuff.
When the running gets tough, it's not time to quit, it's time to take inventory of my body and give myself a break, but not to quit.
Isn't that what life is all about? Guess I won't beat myself up over the 2 sick days because my body needed those days.
Abbbb Shoe-lutely!
Follow my journey to achieving my health and wellness goals while taking the time to notice what life and loving the Lord has to offer...oh, and how totally fabulous shoes can be...

Beautiful Things
So, I've been pretty obsessed lately - obsessed with my new favorite hobby…POSHMARK!!! I've been steadily working on building and tweaking my cute little, online closet. So much fun!
AnyWhooo….Genesis 1 was the center of this morning's devotion, and it really got me to thinking of how God in His Greatness spent 6 days creating this beautiful planet. He took the time to diligently create earth...every animal, plant, tree, star, and then…People!!! On the 6th day after creating and designing the earth…He created US. God made so many beautiful, intricate things in 6 days and then..guess what??!
He entrusted them to People….People who were not only created by Him, but created in HIS LIKENESS…woah. Mindblowing.
It's not wrong for us to love beautiful things, it's not wrong for us to take the time to build our closet, perfect our makeup or design. This is what He did…He took the time to build His earth and perfect His design for us.

A weekend of firsts...
First weekend I completely lost my voice because of bronchitis
which made the losing of the cool that much more entertaining for father of children and rude coach - Hey!! Ain't nobody got time for this!
First time I had to reschedule a training conference for work because of said bronchitis, first time my husband out worked me around the house on a weekend - come to think of it...first time I've ever seen someone strain so hard to pat himself on the back - He's just too cute!

First time I stayed in bed for almost a whole Sunday to try to get better, first time I tithed with a plan, first time I BLOGGED and first time I've just put it out there to set myself accountable to start accomplishing some health and fitness goals. Gotta love accountability :)
Excited and nervous for the firsts that these goals will bring - finishing a 5k, 10k, maybe a half for the first time ever? Seeing 145, 140, 135, 130 on a scale for the first time in my adulthood? Going straight to a size 4/6 rack FIRST before checking out the bigger size 8/9 in a store?
Yah for firsts!! They aren't all that bad....
